Terms of Service

Effective: 28 October 2026Updated:

Eesti keeles →

In short. Tähetark is made and published by Rasta MTÜ. The app costs 9.99 € once — no subscription, no in-app purchases, no ads.

The purchase itself you make with the store (App Store or Google Play), not with us — that is how the stores' contracts are built. We are responsible for the app itself. If it does not do what we promise, you have statutory rights and those run against us. We do not try to take them away below, and the law would not allow it.

What these terms cover and what they do not

They cover:

They do not cover:

with us (see "Who you actually buy from" below);

licence agreement in App Store Connect, so Apple's Standard End User License Agreement applies, as part of the App Store Terms of Service. This page does not replace it and does not try to.

So this page is not "the app's contract". It is our own terms and the information the law requires us to publish.

What you get for Tähetark

change that. For as long as you may reasonably expect updates, we are obliged to supply those that keep the app conforming to what was promised — including security updates.

Price and taxes

Tähetark costs 9.99 €. The exact price in your country is set and displayed by the store.

The price the store shows is the final price. It includes all applicable taxes, and no delivery costs are added, because nothing is shipped physically.

VAT is accounted for and paid by the store, not by us: under EU VAT rules an app marketplace is deemed to act in its own name in the transaction. For that reason we do not issue invoices to end users and we cannot see your payment details.

Who you actually buy from

This surprises many people, but it is how the stores' contracts are written — and the law requires us to say it out loud.

StoreWho you conclude the purchase with
App Store (iPhone, iPad)Apple Distribution International Ltd. — in Estonia Apple sells apps in its own name (as commissionaire) and you acquire the licence from Apple
Google Play (Android)Google Commerce Limited (Dublin) — Google is the merchant of record, acting as our agent

What that means. The money, the payment method, the receipt and the first-line refund go through the store. We are responsible for the app itself — its content, its promises and its quality. We cannot and do not want to hide that behind the store: in consumer law we are the trader even when the sale happened through someone else acting on our behalf.

If you are not sure who to contact, write to us and we will help you find the right door.

Right of withdrawal

In distance selling a consumer generally has a 14-day right of withdrawal. For downloadable digital content that right is lost when three things happen together: supply began before the deadline, with your express prior consent, and you were told that you lose the right by consenting.

In practice both stores take that consent at the moment of purchase. Because the store is the party to the purchase contract, the store is also the counterparty for withdrawal:

Hollyhill, Cork, Ireland — rightofwithdrawal@apple.com

Ireland

🔴 An important distinction. Losing the withdrawal right takes nothing else away from you. If the app is defective — does not work, does not do what we promised — you have entirely separate statutory rights that last two years and that run against us. See the next section. No sentence on this page says "all sales are final" or "no refunds", because that would not be true.

If the app does not work as we promised

The app has to match what we promised — including what our advertising, this website and the store description say. Those are not decoration; they are part of what you bought.

becomes apparent within two years of supply.

presumed to have existed at purchase.

fails or fails repeatedly, to a proportionate price reduction or to terminate the contract.

Limiting or excluding these rights is void by law, and we do not attempt it.

How to use them: write to martti@rahanetis.ee, describe the problem and say which device it happens on. We answer as described below.

Refunds in practice

A refund comes from whoever sold to you:

in Play. After that, Google directs the buyer to the developer — to us.

If the store does not help and the problem is in the app, write to us. We look at every case. Your statutory rights (previous section) apply regardless of what a store's refund policy says.

Updates and changes to the app

We improve Tähetark continuously. Some changes are needed to keep the app conforming to what was promised — we always make those.

Beyond that we may change the app more broadly, but only for a valid reason. The valid reasons are:

  1. changes in operating systems, devices or store requirements;
  2. a security or data protection fix;
  3. improving the learning content or difficulty based on what we learn from how

children actually use it;

  1. complying with a legal requirement.

These changes are free to you. If a change would noticeably reduce what you bought, we will tell you in advance within a reasonable time and you have the right to terminate.

We do not reserve a right to change or remove the app for any reason we like.

Licence and intellectual property

When you buy, you get a personal, non-commercial right to use Tähetark on your family's devices, within the store's rules.

The app's content — Otto and the other characters, the illustrations, the learning content, the design of the games and all voice recordings — belongs to Rasta MTÜ. The voices are genuinely recorded; they are not machine-made.

Please do not:

teaching material or video without our written permission.

We are usually happy to give a kindergarten, school or speech therapist permission — just ask.

Using this website

The website is free and meant for reading. We do not guarantee that it is always available, but we do our best.

The website uses measurement tools (Google Analytics, Meta pixel, TikTok pixel). Exactly which ones and for how long is set out in the Privacy Policy.

Please do not use the site in a way that damages it or stops others using it.

Liability

We are liable for damage we cause, to the extent the law provides.

We do not exclude or limit liability:

No sentence on this page is intended to narrow those rights. If a sentence here turns out to conflict with the law, the law applies and the rest of the terms remain in force.

Complaints and disputes

Write to us first. martti@rahanetis.ee

You may complain in any form. We answer a written complaint within 15 days in the same form. If we cannot answer in that time we will say so and give a new reasonable deadline. If we do not grant your claim, we give written reasons.

If we cannot agree, you may turn to the out-of-court consumer dispute resolution body:

Consumer Disputes Committee (Tarbijavaidluste komisjon)operating at the Estonian Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority
Websitettja.ee/tarbijavaidluste-komisjon
AddressEndla 10A, 10122 Tallinn, Estonia
Phone+372 620 1707 (Mon–Thu 10.00–14.00)
Procedural rulesWorking principles and handling of applications

Using the committee is free for consumers. If we reject your claim we will also give you this information in writing.

🔴 We do not send you to the EU ODR platform, which many terms pages still recommend. That platform was shut down in 2025 and its legal basis was repealed; Estonia removed the corresponding provision in July 2026. A link there would be a dead end. The right address is the committee above.

Your right to go to court always remains.

Governing law and courts

These terms are governed by Estonian law. That does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence if you live elsewhere in the European Union.

On courts: you may sue us either in Estonia or in your country of residence; we may sue you only in your country of residence. We do not require arbitration and we do not restrict your right to go to court.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, the page will carry a new update date at the top and significant changes will be listed here. A purchase is governed by the terms in force at the time of that purchase.
